SOCIAL GROUPS AND ORGANIZATIONS Auction Committee: Each year, St. Justin Martyr School parents host a Silent/Live Auction and Dinner/Casino night. The profits benefit St. Justin Martyr School. Festival Committee: This group of school parents and parishioners meets throughout the year to plan, implement, and staff the annual Parish Festival, held each October. The Festival is a three day event that draws people from our parish and community. It features rides, games, entertainment, and international food, the proceeds from which benefit St. Justin Martyr School. Lenten Dinner Committee: Since the early 1980's, St. Justin's has had annual Lenten Dinners on the Fridays of Lent. These dinners have something for everyone, and feature fish, clam chowder, cheese pizza, vegetables, and home made desserts. Proceeds from the dinners benefit St. Justin Martyr School. St. Patrick's Dance Committee: Since the early 1960's, St. Justin's has held their annual St. Patrick's Dinner/Dance. The event features a traditional dinner of corned beef and cabbage, while listening to a live band playing Irish and a wide variety of music. Proceeds from the dinner/dance benefit the parish. Tai Chi: Classes in Tai Chi are held once a week and are offered through our Pastoral Services Office. It is an ancient form of body movement that helps build energy, creativity, health, harmony, peace and balance. It can help release tension and stress, and strengthen against sickness and disease. Young Adult Ministry: This group is a Catholic Community of individuals between the ages of 18 and 35 who are interested in developing friendship and faith in themselves and the church. We focus on the following four areas of development: spiritual, church community, intellectual, and social. Young at Heart Seniors: This group of "young at heart" senior citizens comes together once a month for an afternoon of food, friendship, and fun. Their gatherings include pot luck luncheons, card games, movies, seasonal theme parties, door prizes, and country line dancing. These gatherings offer all seniors a chance to meet in an atmosphere of love, friendship, and faith. This group is coordinated through the Pastoral Services Office of St. Justin Martyr Parish.
